The First Yes

Anicha first met Brandon on his 21st Birthday, April 5th, 2012, outside of a club through her godsister and his friend, Shannel Rash. He greeted her and complimented how ‘fine’ she was. She laughed and was immediately wondering who this man was.. They walked to the line of the club and once there, he asked all kinds of personal questions about who she was, how she knew Shannel, what school did she go to, etc. His southern charm had her smitten with his humor, wittiness, and overall ability to be himself, in front of hundreds of people. Once inside, Anicha and her friends danced for a while, until Brandon asked her to dance, and she said no. Anicha went and sat down at the bar, of which Brandon came over and asked again if she wanted to dance. She declined again, but Brandon did not take no for an answer. Him being as spontaneous as he was, he started dancing with the chair she was sitting on. She laughed and eventually caved in and danced with him. They enjoyed the rest of the night, but eventually it came to an end. Anicha had hoped that it wouldn’t. She enjoyed how refreshing and invigorating Brandon was. As they were leaving the club, Brandon wanted to go to his favorite burger spot, Steak’n’Shake. He asked Anicha to ride with him in his blue GMC pick-up , and when she said yes, she knew from that moment on, that she would ride with Brandon forever.

I Love You First

As weeks progressed, Anicha and Brandon hung out daily. They would go to parks, lunch dates, group outings, and eventually formed a bond no one could break! They had the kind of dynamic you only see in movies; almost as if they knew each other since they were kids. They share a fond memory of walking together in downtown Dayton, where a group of people had stopped and complimented how beautiful they looked together. 	 On May 25th, 2012, Brandon asked Anicha to be his girlfriend. She giddily said yes. A few weeks into their relationship, Anicha and Brandon were on the phone and Brandon said to her, I have something to tell you. She said, Ok, I’m listening. He said, I love you. She laughed as a reflex, because she thought, he couldn’t possibly love someone like her. Someone who was from the other side of the spectrum. When she didn’t hear a response, she asked, Wait…….what? Brandon said again, I love you. Can you hear me now? Anicha blushed, and shed a tear, and said, I love you too.

It Will Always Be You

Brandon and Anicha spent the next thirteen years, full of love, joy, laughter, long suffering, compromising, and most importantly, being selfless to one another. To say the least, they grew together in their adult lives. They encourage one another; Dream dreams together; Pray for each other; Provide honesty to one another. And whenever trials and tribulations come knocking, they work together to overcome. And wouldn’t have it any other way. The kind of love they share is one people go their whole lives searching for. There’s a quote that says, I have found the one whom my soul loves. This is the epitome of the love, Brandon and Anicha share. Raw, unconditional, and endless. Reciprocating every act of kindness, and every act of love, these two individuals invite you into their world to experience and share, a one of a kind true love.
